Regional planning agencies in Washington are organizations like Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Regional Transportation Planning Organizations (RTPOs), which coordinate growth management and transportation planning for multi-county areas. These bodies bring together local governments, tribes, businesses, and residents to address regional challenges and opportunities.

Palouse Regional Transportation Planning Organization

PRTPO is a four-county RTPO covering all of Asotin, Columbia, Garfield, and Whitman counties. The cities of Asotin and Clarkston, and urbanized areas of Asotin County are part of the Lewis-Clark Valley bi-state federal metropolitan planning area that also includes Lewiston and urban portions of Nez Perce County in Idaho. PRTPO is located within the Eastern Region and the South Central Region of the WSDOT.
